by james c ison posted 01/19/2010 Rebuilding is a long and painful process that no one wants to do. We got stuck with the job. It will take a lot of work to get us back to the level we were three years ago, and we probably will never get that far next year. But we are hoping to get back to that level in maybe two, three or four years. In order to do that, we need to develop real role models for our freshmen. Next year, our juniors will be the leader of the team, whether we like it or not. And even if we don't have enough talent in our juniors, we can still invoke the idea or good leadership in the freshmen. By learning the game, we can give what we have to the freshmen. This, paralleled along what they have, may develop to become the ability of the next "generation" in Dunbar hockey. We can still do this. But we need our juniors to understand the game, excel in the game, and then after all that, be efficient in ultimately teaching the game to the younger ones. We just need to learn how to play hockey.
